Autobiography - Mapping with Google Maps
To complement the autobiography project my second graders complete, creating a Google Map to showcase locations that have been an important in their lives so far would be fun! Details about the autobiography activity can be found on my Spreadsheets/Databases page.
After logging in to Google, students will open Google Maps to create their own map. Students will find locations, pin them to the map, label each pin, and write a sentence or two about that location. Students can change the color of the pin or choose an icon to mark the location. Students will not include actual addresses of the location of their homes. Pins will be placed in a general portion of the city of residence unless parent permission has been granted to use actual addresses.
The map below shows a map I created about the important places in my life based on information found in my autobiography.
