Writing & Sharing Didactic Cinquains
As a part of our study of the various forms of poetry, students will create and publish their own didactic cinquains. These cinquains will be shared with peers, families, friends, and a global audience.
Teacher lesson plan can be found at the bottom of the page.

A Flickr group (Holder Second Grade) is available so that students have access to pre-selected Creative Commons images. Additional images may be located by using a Flickr search. Students must know to how to search for Creative Commons images, copy the address of the image, and paste it into their Padlet entry.
Connect and Share
In addition to receiving feedback on the Padlet from others via the classroom website, connections are made through ePals. In the past, we have connected with a school in Australia. We have exchanged videos, books, writing, etc. This year, we are connecting with a school in London.
Skype sessions can occur with connections made using ePals. Teachers must coordinate timing. Also, additional Skype sessions could be set up via Skype in the Classroom. A search of 'poetry' will show classrooms wanting to connect and share.
